Pursuant to the resolution approved by the United Nations Organization (UNO) since 1978, each year last Thursday of September has been celebrated as “World Maritime Day”. sThe Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources has declared September 28–October 3 to be "Caspian week," and this tradition has been observed annually ever since.
As part of this campaign Gas Processing Plant held subbotniks on coastal areas. As a continuation of this tradition, the Gas Processing Plant hosted the "Cleaning the Caspian Coasts from Wastes" campaign on September 25, 2025, while closely adhering to all necessary safety precautions. The waste collected during the campaign was delivered in compliance with the agreement.
This event aims to raise public awareness of the need to conserve the seas, coordinate environmental conservation activities, save the Caspian Sea's ecosystem, and advance environmental education and awareness.
Employees of the SOCAR Downstream Gas Processing plant participated in the cleanup and collection of 2 m3 of waste from the area.
