Emil Aydin Alkhasli was born on 6 December 1985 in Baku.

He graduated from the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Economic Cybernetics at the Baku State University, majoring in Economic Cybernetics. Emil completed his post-graduate study at the Ecole du Pétrole et des Moteurs (IFP) in France and at the Gubkin State Oil and Gas University in Russia, specializing in Oil Economics and Management.

He is also an alum of the SOCAR Scholarship Programme.

Emil's career path started at McDermott Caspian and continued with an internship at the Project Management Department in Total E&P.

Since 2009, his career has been intertwined with SOCAR.

In 2016, Emil was appointed deputy director and later director of the SOCAR Head Office Projects Management Department.

Starting 2018, he was the project director at the Project Management Office of SOCAR Türkiye, and later worked as Director of Business Development and Initiative Management. Emil was active in the construction and commissioning of the Star Refinery and engaged in a few other projects.

In 2020, he was appointed Deputy Director General for Projects and Investments at SOCAR Downstream Management. Currently, he holds the position of Managing Director at SOCAR Downstream Management LLC.

Emil is married and has three children.
